Space Jam was a basketball animated film that starred the iconic basketball legend Michael Jordan and with appearances of fellow basketball legends. This is a animated film that gave us a clue what Michael Jordan’s childhood was back then as he was a normal kid with a liking of cartoon but with his heart also focused on basketball. This film was made with the purpose to increase Michael Jordan’s popularity and this film helped aspiring young athletes to be inspired after he quit his basketball career to play baseball after his dad was a victim in a drive-by shooting in America.
With the use of green screen intense editing. Director Joe Pytka also used real camera footage to make it look like Michael Jordan was interacting with the cartoon characters. This movie was considered to be one of the best-animated movies in its time as of the collaboration with real and fictional characters.
The purpose of this film was to highlight and support the “Like Mike ” era, wherein this era, basketball legend Michael Jordan was already considered as one of the best basketball players of all time with his career already winning 4 NBA championships and later on winning 2 more 2 years after this movie mas made. This purpose of the film was accomplished as Michael Jordans popularity has increased and he gained more sponsorships and collaborations with big brands such as Nike etc.
