In the film Adjustment Bureau director George Nolfi uses film techniques to add specialty and entertainment for the movie audience.In this essay I will be writing about a few film techniques and explain how they affected and helped George Nolfis Film Adjustment Bureau.First Technique is Music and Sound.This a common and great technique to have in a film as George Nolfi and other directors in the film industry use this technique to either set the mood of the scene or to build up to an event or cause within or with the characters. Music and Sound throughout the movie to either build emotion/suspense or introduced and state the characters attitude in the scene.Music or sound is used to either set the attitude of the scene or the characters emotions.These techniques are used by producers and movie makers to make the audience feel the emotions that the movie is giving out from the music or sound.This is a common technique but it is also a very important technique for the film and the director to succeed their aim or to exceed the audiences expectationskqi

Costumes are very important in the film because it really puts the actors in the feeling of being the character in the film.In the film they use costumes to identify who and what the character does such as the adjustment bureau look fairly unusual to the most citizens in New York with their group in a building rooftop at night time,this indicates to us that these people have different lives from most humans and have a secret they would not want anyone to know of or they are very special people with skills and lives unusual to everyone else

A final film technique I chose to write about is lighting.Lighting is a very important technique for film directors because it helps set the environment the scene is set in.Lighting gives detail of what the characters expressions is or what time of day it is.In this film The Adjustment Bureau George Nolfi uses lighting in different ways such as David in a room by himself in the opening scene in a dark room with little light.This shows that David is his in his own space or own mindset.another scene is where the lighting shows New York at night time.Lighting puts extra detail into the characters and their environment.As the adjustment bureau is at a rooftop at David’s apartment also informs the audience about the characters.

In conclusion all these techniques were used by George Nolfi to have a successful film and not a very boring film.he used each of the techniques in different ways and not just sticking to the simple uses of the techniques.George Nolfi used all these techniques to make the film have suspense,drama,curiosity and all the other attitude he wanted the audience to have.Directors and film industries do this in all films but this was a great film example to show and explore all the different ways to use these techniques which made this film slightly different from the other movies and  very helpful to other directors making a film.
